"Historical Records" is not a towering monument of China's history but also is an example of the highest literary language in the Western Han Dynasty. Mr. Liang Qichao ever praised it as "a must for the ages",Mr. Lu Xun evaluted it "Song of historians, without rhyme of the Lisao." The document is strong authenticity which involves many areas,and is close to oral. In addition it linked the pre-Qin and Medieval under the special historical period of china. So the literature provides a valuable corpus for the study of ancient Chinese vocabulary. The author uses the study theories and methods which include modern linguistics, lexicology and semantics to reserch the antonyms of Historical Records. The author puts the emphasis on the number of antonyms,pos of word,antisense relations,meaningful relationship, corresponding relationship,demonstrative formula, historical contrastive research and the reason of evolution. In the study the author combines the content of the qualitative analysis with the quantitative analysis,the objective description with the theoretical conclusion,the individual study with systematic study,the synchronic study with diachronic research. The paper not only reveal the reasons of the evolution of antonyms polymerizatin but also deeply recognize vocabulary system of ancient Chinese by studying of the characteristics and internal laws of the monosyllabic antonyms in "Historical Records".
