Application Of Folk Painting Colors In Modern Art Design

Color arrangement is one of the main characters of folk art which is also applied in the annual new Year's paintings, paper-cuts, toys, clothes etc. Folk Art conveys the nation's strong characteristics, tastes and sentiments and also provides modern art design with rich visual language.As there is a tendency to pursue a so called'international'look., this essay aims to state that China modern art design should be based on folk art , emphasize the inheriting and development of folk art and recombine the spirit element of folk beauty with modern design language.The application of folk painting colors is the most representative characteristic of this art. But at present, there is no definition for folk art. So I summarize the characteristics of folk art by studying and analyzing its forms and taste. And also I'll tell the relationship between folk painting color and modern art design according to the typical example of works of folk art and modern art design.
