Study On The Chinese Mainland Literary Theory And Aesthetics History In New Century

The concept of Chinese Mainland Literary Theory and Aesthetics was initiated by Professor Hu Jingzhi in 1980 at China's First Aesthetics Academy hold in Kunming. Two years later, Professor Hu wrote the paper of Literary Theory and Aesthetics and Others, which was published in the Aesthetics Guidence. In this paper, he said, "with the development of Literary Theory and Aesthetics, a new subject emerged on the overlapping of them. We called it Literary Theory and Aesthetics." In May of 1986, the Chinese Department of Shandong University initiated the First Meeting of China's Literary Theory and Aesthetics Research in Tai'an, where the objectives and Scope of. Literary Theory and Aesthetics were throughly discussed. Later on, a series of publications about Literary Theory and Aesthetics appeared. In December of 2000, under the authoratiuon of China's Ministry of Education, the Key Research Base of Literary Theory and Aesthetics was founded in Shandong University. During the past 20 years, the Literary Theory and Aesthetics has passed its rough start, through reserch and hot topic three stages. Partly estimated, more than 200 papers and 30 Academic monograph on this topic were published. Besides, several Nationwide academic conference were hold. Therefore, the research and reconsideration on the history of Literary Theory and Aesthetics will definitely make contributions to its sound development.This paper reorganized the development of China's Literary Theory and Aesthetics since New Century. In the first chapter, it makes an overview of the concept of Literary Theory and Aesthetics from the aspect of subject positioning, research objectives, theory resources and research method. In the second chapter , it highlights the characteristics of Literary Theory and Aesthetics in new century, and sums up its research value and theorital contribution. The paper focous on four parts, which are referred as the development of modern transformation research of Literary Theory and Aesthetics, the pioneering of China's classical theory resources, promotion of comparative research in the communication and the reconstruction of humannity. In the third chapter, it starts from the new century's characteristic and society need, and induces the challenged of Literature and Arts Esthetics development, which included four parts.First, with the development of electronic technology and the prosperity of internet culture, the current media is endowed more like a perception image, while its soul is not so adequate and the understanding and education of Literary Theory and Aesthetics is declining.Secondly, the economic globalization has made it more urgernt for the national culture, esthetics included, moves toward the world. Therefore, it is pressing for the traditional Literary Theory and Aesthetics transformed toward the modern type.Thirdly, development of mass culture, advertisement and clothing culture has dimmed the edge among arts, life and Aesthetic. Under which condition, the research objectives and existence necessarity of Literary Theory and Aesthetics are uncertain, and finally the population of arts termination is sure to make the existence necessarity of Literary Theory and Aesthetics to be challenged.Finanlly, development of cultural theory, especially the prosperity of cultural research and cultural criticism which has both boroadened the edge of arts and esthetics but taken on the trend of replacing arts and Aesthetic theory, has also made the existence necessity of the Literary Theory and Aesthetics a question. In view of the above challenge,what should we do? Many professors have made some regarding positive response and offered some constructive suggestions on the development of Literary Theory and Aesthetics discipline and the related.
