In Hong Kong, the Swordsmen Romances of Louis Cha are known as very precious works, as well as in China. Adapted one of his works Heaven Dragon The Eighth, Tony Wong's Greenwood color comics achieved great successes in 1998, and from that on Tony Wong's works play a very important place in Hong Kong literature world.Tony Wong's comics are the culture bridge for Hong Kong readers, especially the low-social-class cit, to re-contact homeland, as well as the way for them to appreciate the art fascination of Louis Cha's Swordsmen Romances. In the education background of colony, it is through these comics that most Hong Kong citizens recognize Chinese traditional culture and history. Adapting Cha's romances, Tony Wong creates his own Hong Kong Greenwood Comics with more Hong Kong characteristic. Dragon Tiger Gate is Wong's magnum opus, and it is also a comic works which is the best seller in Hong Kong. This work can be called the culture chrestomathy of Hong Kong low-social-class cit. During a long time, it possesses more readers than ones of belles-lettres, and then forms the unique comic culture of Hong Kong.
