As a representative figure of Jin Ci, Yuan Haowen systematically carries on and develops the Ci tradition of both Song dynasties from the aspects of Ci concepts, creative skills, styles and influences, etc. On Song Ci, Yuan Haowen demonstrates ability of absorbing others and courage of self-confidence to surpass. His achievement on the creation of Ci is not due to the study of one person or one school, but to his combination of other Ci writers' patterns including Su's and Xin's to create his own unique style. His theme is mainly about temperament, his claim word's unique quality, his attitude of creation genre-crossing, his techniques of writing deep involvement of events and refinement of sentences, his art style the combination of wildness and gentleness, and his succession and innovation of Song Ci, all of which make Yuan Haowen the great master of Jin Ci.
