On the basis of existing study results, this thesis makes a deep analysis on the artifact shapes and decorative patterns of the thin-neck pots,cock-head pots and lamps which are often excavated in Northern dynasty tombs, and discusses their type features and origins. There are three parts in this thesis: (1) Analysis on the shape features and stages of these three artifacts: tombs in the Northern dynasty can be divided into four stages according to historical stages and typology study;(2)Analysis on decorative patterns of these three artifacts;(3) Analysis on origins of these three artifacts and influences of foreign culture: through analysis, we may find thin-neck pots in the Northern dynasty were developed from the A pot in Xianbei grave at Bagou village, and the origin of cock-head pots can be traced back to cock-head pots without handle which were excavated in the tomb during late years of Three Kingdom Dynasty and early years of Western Jin Dynasty, and lamps can be retrospected to ceramic Dou used as eat in prehistorical period. These discussion above makes us get a more comprehensive and profound understanding for the three common artifact shapes in the Northern dynasty.
