Bilingual education, a new highlight in Suzhou education, has been explored in some primary and secondary schools in our country as a measure to meet the needs of international education. Since bilingual teaching is still in its initial stage in our country, people do not know much about it, and neither do they know how it was actually implemented in some key elementary schools in Suzhou. Therefore, the author attempts to make a study in this respect, hoping to get some idea about the present conditions not only from doing some preliminary research on bilingual education in theory, but also from a real case study of the school education so that the right information can be obtained to adjust and improve the future work on the bilingual education. The author does the case study on Experimental Elementary School of Canglang District, Suzhou through the way of the literature review, questionnaire investigation and individual interview. She analyzes the implementation conditions of bilingual education in the macroscopic and microcosmic aspects, and summarizes four contradictions in current bilingual teaching. The results show that the school bilingual teaching in the course of mathematics confronts the lack of qualified bilingual teachers, students' poor English language ability, the lack of appropriate bilingual textbooks, the strong impact of the exam-oriented education and other issues, which greatly affect the smooth development and further implementation of the bilingual teaching. At the same time, during the course of bilingual teaching various problems and difficulties have arisen and forced many primary and secondary schools in Suzhou District, including Experimental Elementary School of Canglang District, Suzhou, to stop students from having bilingual classes. Obviously, the bilingual teaching conditions have not yet matured, and the implementation of bilingual education will barely be satisfactory.
