The imperative sentences are the sentences which express imperatival meanings through particular grammars. We conclude that the characteristics of imperative sentences in Pre-Qin Period on its form are two. One is that a quantity of adverbs has been used in the imperative sentences. The adverbs which express tone or show the respect are often used in the imperative sentences. There is a little of modal particles used in the end of the imperative sentences. Because there is no appropriative modal particles used This is the obvious difference between the imperative sentences in Pre-Qin Period and in other periods. In the near ancient times, some modal particles which have been used in imperative sentences can be looked upon as a sign of them, such as"着","咱","则个","休","罢". But the modal particles in Pre-Qin Period cann't be like that, such as"也","矣","哉".Some adverbs which expressed tone, such as"其","惟", in imperative sentences in Pre-Qin Period have disappeared afterwards. Maybe, its disappearance has something to do with the creation of modal particles which are used appropriatively in imperative sentences. The other is that negative adverb"s无/毋","勿"are often used to ask somebody not to do something. The two words are similar, but they have a little difference. Some verbs can be followed by objects, but sometimes they are not followed by objects."勿"is always used to negative this verbs."无/毋"doesn't have limits like that. Afterwards, these negative adverbs have disappeared in verbal communication. Instead of them,"莫","休"created, then other negative adverbs like"别",came into being. On the form, the imperative sentences in Pre-Qin Period also have some features that other imperative sentences have. For example, the subject of them is always second person,.The predicate is always a verb which describes act. The flexible application of parts of speech in Pre-Qin Period is common, so many verbs in imperative sentences in Pre-Qin Period are conversed by other parts of speech in a certain condition.
