Research On The Newly Born Vocabulary Of Modern Chinese

New word refers to those produced recently or be absorbed by Mandarin, mainly from loanwords, dialect, specialty, newly-created words and those original words with new meanings. The main feature is its reflection of new things and phenomena and its expression of acuity of people's conception. The valid approach to richen and develop Mandarin lexicon system is to absorb those new words into Chinese lexicon system continuously to make the communication more convenient and lifelike. The rapid development of society brings on a large number of new words. As the reflection of social life, they record vividly the course of the changes in society. Besides, lexicon system marked with brilliant time brand for its variation and openness.With the rapid development of society and emergence of new things, people's notion has changed significantly as well. With these factors, a large batch of new words has come forth accordingly, which richen and develop Chinese.After the researches on random words from Modern Chinese Dictionary (Edition 5,2005), this paper compares, illustrates and analyses these words, and then points out the meanings and generalizes the features and contents of the new words. Based on the above, the paper comes to a conclusion that subject world, object world and linguistic atmosphere are all the fundamental reasons that drive the evolvement of Chinese lexicon in the process of its development.The distribution of new words is affected by both society and the word itself.
