The Application Of Chinese Characters' Forms-Meanin In Poster Design

Based on the structure and the Forms-Meaning of Chinese characters, this paper summarized the feature of Chinese characters which are"hieroglyphs"and"graphics", and discussed the new method of Chinese characters in the design and application of poster. It belongs to the hieroglyphs and has a tight relationship with graphics when we research the Chinese characters from the development in the world characters. Meanwhile, the internal characteristics and information of it can be shown through visualization. As one of important elements of Poster Design, the Chinese characters have an intrinsically characteristic about aesthetic of decoration and pattern. The structure has determined that it is a great vitality and appeal of design elements, and it can not be replaced by other elements and modes of design. Finally, a new viewpoint of Chinese characters was proposed in the present design to combine with a practical example of the Poster Design. The purpose is to make the Chinese characters playing an important role in graphic design, and to embody the unique charm of arts and cultural characteristics.
