Literariness: Perseverance In Expansion And Generalization

Nowadays, with the coming of"era of interpreting blueprints"literature as an art is being marginalized. With the literature becoming the adornment of Telecommunication Science and Technology Time, the literariness as a literary properties was put on the stage as the core of literature theories and creation. Humanist has to accept the reality. For the purpose of bringing more object to their own theoretic view and learning frame to maintain the subject's activity some scholars call on the expansion of literariness that the non-literature field should be the object of literature theory. But the other scholars oppugn the expansion of literariness. How could we explore literariness on the condition that literature was impossible? Could literariness and modern literature each go its own way? Where would the feather stand when the skin was absent? So encircling the issue of literariness a wide-range of discussion has been launched. This piece aims to draw some clarifications of it, based on which some personal views will be presented.There are altogether four parts contained in this piece. Chapter one mainly introduces the background and origin of the discussion about literariness in our nation, i.e. the issue of western literariness is combed and summarized. Literariness serves as an important theoretical category in the literature and art discipline. It participated to discuss the literature essence. It established on the basis of the linguistics research results of the 20th century initial period. Literariness is combed in this thesis from its generation to its development and peripherization, in which each proposed theory only do description in brief.In chapter two, five problems concerning the literariness"argument"are dealt with, namely, the apprehension and definition of the concept of literariness; the existence form and function of literariness in the postmodern context; the discussion of aesthetics in daily life and new aesthetics principle; about the relationship of culture study and literature study; about the boundary of literature. These five aspects, linked together, constitute the major issues of this argument. Based upon these issues, I would like to make a comprehensive study of this argument, so as to gain a better understanding of it.In the third chapter from the reflection of the discussion of literariness the conclusion that the basic connotation of literariness have two dimension at least have concluded, that is the dimension of aesthetic and the dimension of Language, which is a retortion to the literariness expansion theory.In the forth chapter the conclusion that only when the literariness of literature itself is persisted can the result of the ending of literature not come is concluded facing many problems that the marginalization of literature and the generalization of literariness bring about and the way of how to stick to the literariness is discussed.
