On The Funeral System Reflected In Shisangli And Jixili In Yili

Shisangli and Jixili in Yili are literature with the most detailed records of the funeral system of the Pre-Qin Period and Han Dynasty. And there have been a large number of famous and excellent researches on them since the spread of them. Because of the particularity on practicability and contemporaneity of the funeral system they record, they also provide us the possibility to research the funeral system from the angel of combining historical documents with unearth objects.On the basis of widely absorbing the results of previous researches and aiming at the weakness of them, this paper seriously reads Shisangli and Jixili and rich achievements of the Pre-Qin Period and Han Dynasty in archeology, especially the latest achievements. Then it does an in-depth study on the funeral system, combining the literature handed down from ancient time and the materials of archeology. This paper falls into five parts.Introduction: summing up the funeral system of the Pre-Qin Period and Han Dynasty as well as the academic achievements about it, pointing out the limitation and shortage in the present academic achievements, and then pointing out the writing purpose and outline of this paper.The first chapter, system of coffin: on the basis of retrospection to the origin and development of coffin as well as its system, discussing some of the ornaments of coffin according to the latest materials of archeology.The second chapter, encoffining: on the basis of retrospection to the origin and the development of the encoffining, discussing Mingmu and other things according to No. 1 Chu Tomb at Mashan of Jiangling and No. 1 Han Tomb at Mawangdui.The third chapter, funerary objects: discussing the bamboo works and the carpentry used in the funeral, and deliberating their names.Epilogue: on the basis of the conclusions of the chapters above, discussing the writer and the writing time of Shisangli and Jixili.
