QianMu (1895-1990) ,named BinSi, is from WuXi, JiangSu province. In the 20th century China's first-class scholars, Mr. Qian Mu was one of those rare legendary characters who studied independently diligently and stepped the academic mountain peak.The first part of this article analyzes how his historical education thought forms mainly through the background of Mr. Qian Mu and his education environment, having a restricted view of his unique history education thought.The second part of this article emphatically elaborates on his historical education thought connotation. Mr. Qian Mu's scholarly research is extremely vast, browsing from classical works, historical works, philosophical works and belles-lettres to even the East and West culture, the history of thoughts and so on. However, his lifetime researching mostly concerns with his education practices. Therefor, the author discovered that his history thought fuses with his education thought tightly, infiltrating mutually. For instance Mr. Qian considers "To raise the ideal perfect personality" as the highest objective in current historical education; one of the main social functions of history is to serve for the present age; the historical education is valued in raising a talent who can master all kinds of knowledge, not a person who only specializes on something; the historical education must serve for promoting the Chinese traditional natiomal culture. These historical education theories and methods Mr. Qian have not had any independent writings, however, looking over his numerous scholarly works, actually are sending out these thoughts' fragrance.The third part of this article mainly investigates the formation developing process of his historical education thought through Mr. Qian's history education practices. All his life's education practice is nearly the miniature of modern education development. He has been ten years' primary school teacher, eight years' middle school teacher, then steps onto university's platform since he was 18, from academic tour to build up the New Asia institute, then to leave the bema when he was 92 in the Taibei Sushu building, he has been engaged in the educational work 75 years, actually realize his promis "Giving a lecture is my proper duties". Looking from Chinese recent history of education, QianMu can be called the first person who have so many education practice experiences. Therefore, depending on above fact, we may say that Qian Mu is not only one outstanding modern scholar, but also a great educationalist in recent education history.The last part of this article gives a commentary on Mr. Qian's history education thought and practice in two aspects. But his achievement was so great that it is to difficult for me to summary in thousands of words, so this article only gives a commentary on his developing three aspects such as humanism spirit in the history teaching, simultaneously combining with the deflection and fault in modern education and society to proof the value of his viewpoint to the modern society.
