Wang Yu was born in Zhenjiang Jiangsu Province, and much of his activities happened in Jiaqing and Daoguang periods of Qing Dynasty. He was an ordinary person without any official title. He was fond of poetries and had a vast circle of friends. He had many works, among them there were several anthologies of poetries written in Qing Dynasty. And The Anthology of Jiangsu's Poetries is the biggest one among them. Wang Yu wanted to select all the poetries written in Jiangsu in Qing Dynasty. So the anthology is so vast that it collects about 5430 poets, and can be divided into 183 volumes. So it is the vastest provincial poetry anthology in Qing Dynasty. This dissertation studies the compilation, the publishing style, the literary meaning and the textual meaning of this anthology. Also, the main experiences, the family, the circle of friends of Wang Yu himself and his poetries will be studied simply.
