Research On An Anthology Of Shu's Poetries In Qing Dynasty

An anthology of Shu's poetries in Qing Dynasty,which is selected by Sun Tongsheng,is a Poetry Collection with anthologies' nature.The book contains364 poets and more than 5600 poems,covering a wide range,large scale and rich in content,which is the masterpiece of Shu poetry and an important representative of provincial poetry in Qing Dynasty.For the moment,An anthology of Shu's poetries in Qing Dynasty is often used as a reference book to search the poets and poems of Shu land in Qing dynasty.Only a few scholars have mentioned the book or used it as a reference in their monographs or papers,but they have not explored and analyzed it in depth.So far,there are only two single articles which are published in the collection of papers devoted to the study of the book.There is no monograph make special and systematic study on An anthology of Shu's poetries in Qing Dynasty,nor a Masters and Ph.D.students' dissertation make researches on specific topics.This paper will start from the document and literature.By combing the literature,comparing and analysing real evidence,combined with logical reasoning,I'll make an on-the-spot investigation roundly on An anthology of Shu's poetries in Qing Dynasty.In the first chapter of this paper,I'll use the method of literature carding to sort out Sun Tongsheng's life story,family and writings in turn.At the same time,verify the situation of Sun Tongsheng's intercourse,according to those micro clues which are provided by the local chronicles,the chronicle of Sun Tongsheng's life story,friends' collection and other documents.In the second chapter,I'll analyze the background of the book firstly.Secondly,the literature sources of An anthology of Shu's poetries in Qing Dynasty are examined in detail with the method of literature combing and comparing.Sun Tongsheng draws extensively on the experience and achievements of his predecessors so as to identify thefalse things,preserve the truth and choose the good.The former's and his contemporaries' compilation of sylloge,collections,local chronicles,poems,notes and so on are deemed as literature materials,such as Sichuan Tongzhi(a compilation in Jiaqing),Shu Ya,A short selection of Shu land's poems in Qing dynasty,Yucun Poems,Shi Yuan,the essays in Tingyulou.These books not only provide direct materials,but also provide essential literature clues for Sun Tongsheng's poetry collection.The third chapter is to sort out the edition of An anthology of Shu's poetries in Qing Dynasty and clarify its compilation style firstly,and then comprehensively study these selected poets from three focus points,which are the poet's identities,regional distributions and their family groups.In the fourth chapter,I'll focus on the nature of "selection" of the anthology and discuss Sun Tongsheng's poetical thoughts in combination with the preface,which was written by Sun Tongsheng,the choice on poets and their poetical works and the evaluation on poets and their poetic styles.The fifth chapter uses the method of empirical analysis.First of all,it clarifies that An anthology of Shu's poetries in Qing Dynasty has the literature value of saving people,saving poems,saving history,compiling lost,collating and textual research.And then uses logical reasoning to prove the writing age of some boudoir poets in the book.Secondly,it systematically arranges and expounds the literary value of the collection and its influence and significance to later generations.
