Media criticism is a literary criticism which is led, planned or participated by mass media. This form of criticism, with some brand-new characteristics, springs up under the new social context. It includes three main critical forms: literary critical articles, literary events and literature award.Starting with the literature, consumption and power dimensions, this article pays more attention to the relation between media criticism since 1990s and the following three aspects: Literature development, consumption context and discourse power of itself in literary criticism field. Through the research for these three principal relations, a systematic analysis of the media criticism's operation pattern and influence factor is made, which also can serve as an important reference to literary production and literary criticism at present.This article indicates that, because of relying on mass media as its special carrier, media criticism has positive significance in promoting literary production and consumption. Moreover, its discourse power's acquisition not only is the refraction of mass media's authority but also is realized in the process of interaction with audience. It is an effective fusion of technical discourse power and ideological discourse power. Meanwhile, the rising and booming of media criticism is not an isolated phenomenon, it is closely linked with current social environment. Finally, the article considers that, media criticism should overcome its own deficiency and take advantage of the experts and scholars' resources. Also, through the integration and utilization of the academic resources, as well as the division and cooperation with academic criticism, media criticism can make great efforts to seek a vaster development space.
