In those special years full of wars, instead of being blocked by the upheaval, Guan Liang gets a comprehensive improvement in his painting. He achieved a higher level in the fine arts after receiving training in both Chinese and Western paintings. His works are of great value for Chinese fine arts, especially for developing and approving them. That drama becomes part of the painting does exists, though in a small number. Through those drama-in-paintings, Guan Liang tries to combine Chinese pictures with Western oil paintings and improve treatment of blank paintings. By analyzing completely his works and their mood, the author thinks each detail of his work makes art conceptual and thoughtful. His remarkable contribution to blank paintings is of great value, too. Some related information is mentioned in"Of Paintings"and"On The Painting Of Mountain Yutan"of GuKaizhi, a painter and art critic in the six dynasties, as well as in"Famous Paintings of Historical Generations"of Xylem, an art critic in Tang dynasty. I t gradually becomes mature in Song, Yuan and Ming dynasties, and is carried on and developed by Guan Liang, LinFengmian and XuBeihong ,the great artists in modern times. However, it still plays an important role in today's learning and researching of the theories of fine arts.
