Humble Opinion About Chinese Ethnic Music Of Piano

The development of Chinese ethnic piano music creation can be grouped into 5 periods:①The Period of the First Thirty Years in the 20^th Century②The Period of 20 Years from 1930s to 194os③From 1949 to 1966④The ten years from 1966 to 1976⑤From 1976 to now.During these five different periods,the purposes and characteristics of Chinese ethnic piano creation are quite different because of its different developing stages. Our ethnic piano creation has experienced long but continuously developing growth from the initial pure imitation to the multiple styles today.Many fantastic piano works appeared during these periods.The writer summarized the unique art qualities of Chinese ethnic piano works by browsing our outstanding works.These unique art qualities mainly consist of two aspects:art styles;musical and cultural contexts.The art styles are reflected in these respects:rich ethnic qualities;the co-existence of refined and popular music works;sincere feelings and deep thoughts. Meanwhile the music cultural contexts of our ethnic piano works fully embody our ethnic music character.The contexts include not only cultural contexts but music contexts as well.In a word,the unique art qualities of our piano music works are based on Confucianism,humanism and patriotism, making it differ from the western piano music based on classicalism and romanticism and stand among world piano music with its special humanism charm and art attraction.However,in spite of its unique art qualities,pianos are in essence alien musical instruments introduced from the western world and inevitably collides with our classical music in the terms of musical vocabulary and playing principles.The writer designedly made a survey on our ethnic piano works playing of piano majors in some colleges of Shanxi Province.It is intended to analyze the existing problems in piano creation,teaching and playing and put forward some solutions.Through this survey,the writes noticed that learning Chinese ethnic piano works greatly helps in developing sense of music,improving skills and perceiving our musical culture.The fact needing our attention is Chinese ethnic piano works are not practiced as often as foreign piano works.There are three main reasons responsible for this situation.They are:Chinese local piano works are fewer compared with western piano works;we haven't our own piano playing school;the teaching and learning system of Chinese ethnic is not complete yet.Although there are still some problems and difficulties in our piano works and daily teaching practice,the flourishing trend of Chinese ethnic piano works can not be stopped,nor can the formation and development of Chinese ethnic piano school.The writer embraces full expectation and hopes towards the future of Chinese ethnic piano works.
