This Instruction System is one of the development projects of our university cooperating with theJilin Radio and TV University. All the audio, video and text resources are submitted by the JLRTVU, and Idesigned the main program.The"Tourism English"is an elective course of Open English Profession of the JLRTVU.Among this course, students can learn the actual language stuff about the tourism English,inquire into the modern tourism concept and customs of international tourism, possess thecommunication abilities in concerning foreign affairs, the professional reading ability,translating ability, the ability of writing comprehension, and communication in oral included.The course includes eight unit: Principal Organs of WTO & Its Membership, FutureSingapore Hotel, Mausoleum of Qin Shihuang, Chinese Ming and Qing Furniture, SpecialCuisine, Pudong--Landmark of New Shanghai, Chinese Ethnic Minorities'ARTS and Crafts,Potala Palace.The proper of this essay is to design a multimedia system, base on the internet, running onthe local machine. With good instruction design, the system will categorize all the resources,make the students learn on their own, without the teacher's help. Comparing with the TV-aidedmethod, which is traditionally, this kind of instruction method with multimedia is more flexible.It bind the teach, learn and train to one course, may increases the students'interesting. In theprecondition of saving the human power, the system tries best to increase the instruction effort.The Tourism English Multimedia Instruction System(TEMIS) is developed by theAuthorware, which designed the main program. The serial animation and the interactiveanimation.In order to reduce development costs, enhance efficiency, improve speed and the follow-upeasily modify and maintain, during the design process, we have adopted a modular design,each module will be designed and store to a separate file. The writing train and video playerof all the eight unit were integrated in two separate documents, so that a clearer structure, runfaster.This article does not detail all the steps in the development, but rather chose a few keypoints are: Study the Article, Video Player, Web Links, Simulate writing, Role-Playing andObjective Test Subject.1. Study the ArticleIn the part of"Study the Article", I design for the main purpose: to enable users to get thetranslation of the sentence and the words to explain when reading the article. Here, theinteraction design is more important. How to use a more interactive design, so that users canunderstand the operation at a glance and without any help is part of the solution.2. Video Player The reason why all of the video player functions are placed in the same documents and thedifferent sections has different entrance, which aims mainly due to:(1) Video files are links to external files, as in the system development process, thegradual completion of the record, and is not an easy, so it is designed for a single document tofacilitate the maintenance and organization in development.(2) Video files are usually occupy a larger storage space. When burn to CD-ROM, it willbe much slower to load. If included in the same document with other content, the program willoccupy a large number of system resources and lead to slow play. If placed in an external file,Authorware will save the break point and relocate the system resources, like the interruptmechanism, and then increase the speed of play.(3) During the development process, the teacher raised that the video should play withtext attached. Of course, the layout of text can be more or less, but as more text as possible willfacilitate the users to read. But in each chapter, the main title and navigation take a great deal ofspace. The entire system space is restrict of in 800 * 600 pixels. Therefore, re-designd interface,making the text will also have more room to carry out the layout.(4) If the other parts, design a separate entry and exit may be need for frequent navigationand replace location, and then affect the efficiency of use. but to watch the video file isgenerally a longer time, the use of impact. And as a result of such design can improve theefficiency of the implementation, so identified in this way.3. Web LinksLinks to related web pages of a total of two parts: the Cultural Background Library andWriting Train.(1) Cultural Background LibraryThe content of this part is much longer, and source texts are extracted from the network.Copy it down in Authorware and rearrange the layout is not much significance. Choose thedirect link to the page is an efficient way.(2) Writing TrainingDifferent to the part of objective test subject, the teachers need to review and evaluate theresult of Wring Training part. Teachers put forward that it's better to use the way that after thestudents'written, send an e-mail to the teachers'mailbox automatically. Authorware here inachieving it has a considerable degree of difficulty. And if the page is embedded in the form ofAuthorware, it will skip the Authorware's network interface and directly using the webinterface. That is relatively much easier.4. Simulate WritingSimulate Writing is that the user fill in the form manually, and the program is able to judgewhether the player is wrong and view the correct answers. Due to the complexity of theinteractions and uncertainties, Using Flash to edit it is a better choice. In the editorial, all thecontrols are on the same judging panel, including the teacher's read to the correct answer.5. Role-PlayingRole-playing is an extension Conversation scene. Split the continuous dialogue intomultiple small parts, so that users can compare their own pronunciation with the right reading,then to correct pronunciation errors.Before the design, a set of flash animation is produced. The relative complete Conversationscene is split into many small paragraph animation. and in the flow chart below, the role of Aand B of the corresponding role to play in the order, the B1 is played first.
