Research On The Organic Holism Of David Ray Griffin

The rapid development of science and technology brings about not only huge material wealth, but also ethical value deficiency. The constructive postmodernism, with the ideal of building a better home, attempts to rescue the modernity from its plight through remodeling belief and unifying the fragmented facts and values. David Ray Griffin, as a constructive post-modern representative, conducted in-depth discussion focusing on the organic holism.In this paper, the author exerts an effort to add a philosophical introspection and reasonable evaluation to the organic holism, on the basis of systematic observation and organization of it. By using history and logic unified methodology, the article launches from both theoretical and practical dimensions, to comb the context of the whole. And by a combination of theory and practice, this article pays close attention to reality, is concerned about a harmonious society.This paper focuses on the connotation of the organic holism in essence, and points out the relationship between the whole and part is that of mutual incorporation and the dependence tie is its thinking origin. Secondly, a philosophical analysis of David Griffin's organic holism is conducted, and the ontology, epistemology and methodology are pan-experientialism, non-sensory perception, non-reproducible experiment correspondingly. Then the paper further extends and analyzes the constructive post-modern rescue programs: the compatibility theory between the objective and the subjective, the theory of equal diversity, the theory of time in order, the theory of double human nature, highlighting the creative spirit of the time. At the same time, the traditional Chinese culture and the constructive post-modernism are compared in view of the similarity between them, and the paper then concludes that there are many characteristics between them in substantial agreement. For instance, holographic permeability, mobility of the process, multi-logic, equal diversity, perception by non-sense, and so on. Basing on the above analysis, the paper holds that there is a similar matrix, the vitality of pan-experientialism, between the traditional Chinese culture and the constructive post-modernism.The paper finally comes to its conclusion that the constructive post-modernism, the traditional Chinese culture associates with a harmonious society, and the organic holism is the bridge that brings about the integration of the three. The commensuration in the framework of Marxism between the constructive post-modern and the traditional culture, provides a kind of reference for the understanding and construction of a harmonious society.
