Mandarin is now becoming an international language. More and more people from all over the world are now learning Mandarin by all kinds of ways. Different from traditional school education, the commercial Mandarin training now has its own advantages and limits as well. This article is based on the author's experience as a Mandarin trainer. Considering the reality of Mandarin training, including the existing teaching materials and methods, the author tried to redesign the training process and materials, as well as training trainers by using theories of instructional designing and message designing. There are several practical suggestions for Company M on its training. Guided by Action Research, the author recorded real activities in training and gradually got the instructional train of thoughts by formative evaluation. The author believed that we should arise and keep learner's interests from the right beginning when they started to learn phonetics and tones. Facing different people from various areas, we should first catch their learning styles and keep a generally useful method and strategy in mind. We can bravely use colour to strengthen the instructional materials' effect and creatively combine music with Mandarin together to find a more eye-catching way in the classroom. Trainers should learn as much as possible on different careers in order to know learners better, as which can help on training and enhance it. Problems come out beyond our preparation in an intercultural environment, we can only find the root and solve them by evaluating after implementation. And this can also help on the later Mandarin training. We aimed at more efficient communications based on clear objectives statements. And the main result of this paper is to summarize what the author have got in her practice and how she improved it. And she presented the phonetics training materials from which the training has gained much profits.
