Although action-oriented teaching was introduced from Germany,it has been recognized the great conformity with vocational education.Nowadays,the secondary vocational education plays a fundamental role in promoting Chinese vocational education development,thus the quality of classroom teaching at secondary vocational schools is crucial.And in recent years,all the successive introductions of a series of educational policy documents reflect the firm policy orientation on the reform of secondary vocational education and teaching,which is from the national level;however,the low effectiveness of traditional English classroom teaching at the secondary vocational schools and certain deviations during the application of action-oriented teaching at the local teaching practice.Facing the above background,the research on the action-oriented English curriculum instructional design is carried out,which takes hotel service and management at secondary vocational schools as the example.The research mainly adopts the literature research method and case study method to clarify the connotation of action orientation and its key role in the professional core curriculum teaching at secondary vocational schools,then enriches the theory of industry English teaching method at the secondary vocational education stage;and further demonstrates the value of action-oriented teaching within the secondary vocational schools' teaching,and hopes to promote the deepening reform on the quality of education and teaching at the secondary vocational schools,as well as delivering high-quality professionals for the hotel industry.This paper basically consists of four chapters:The first chapter is the part of introduction,which clarifies the research background,theoretical and practical research significance and sorts out the research status of relevant "secondary vocational action orientation" and "secondary vocational English instructional design" and comments on them.Then it outlines the adopted research ideas and methods,and introduces the core concepts and theoretical basis in detail.The second chapter is a basical overview of action-oriented English instructional design concepts within Hotel Service and Management at secondary vocational schools and the presentation of design ideas.On the one hand,this paper expounds the three concepts of this action-oriented instructional design:students-centered,professional ability based and work process oriented;on the other hand,the basic idea of how to design is presented.The third chapter presents an action-oriented instructional design case of English curriculum for Hotel Service and Management at secondary vocational schools.The "Room Reservations" module has been selected,whose instructional design has been analyzed from the whole curriculum to this module status in this curriculum and its importance tostrategies,teaching activities and classroom teaching evaluation table settings,etc.And the further implementation procedures case and the overall instructional design framework are demonstrated too.Chapter four makes multidimensional reflection on action-oriented instructional design for Hotel Service and Management at secondary vocational schools.And it points out that the setting of teaching objectives needs to reflect multi dimension,the key point of teaching needs to emphasize work orientation;the launch of teaching activities should consider its level and interaction;and the application of formative evaluation ought to be embodied.
