From the end of the 4th century to the early 5th century, the ancient Chinese was transmitted to Japan. We know that the onyomi of Kanji is the transform of Chinese pronunciation. The Japanese borrowed Chinese pronunciation from different periods or places. Therefore, the onyomi of Kanji corresponding to Chinese Pinyin is complex.Chinese Consonants z is read as highlight dental unaspirate voiceless affricate,c is highlight dental aspirate voiceless affricate,s is highlight dental voiceless fricative,zh is blade palatal unaspirate voiceless affricate,ch is blade palatal aspirate voiceless affricate, and sh is blade palatal voiceless fricative. These consonants difference in a few words are significant, althorugh there is certain corresponding relationship between[z],[c],[s],[zh],[ch],[sh]and sa,za,ta,da transversal pronunciation in Japanese. We must know not only the "what" but also the "why".Therefore,I write this paper.Based on traditional Chinese phonology,I lay emphasis on the study of the historical evolution since mediaeval times.Besides, research on Suzhou dialect and Meixian Hakka dialect is another innovation. The research of the paper is totaling about 481 Chinese characters, which is composed of "the list of Chinese characters in common use"(1945 characters) published by the Japanese government in 1981,and some related Chinese characters. This paper analyzes the relation between six Chinese consonants and the onyomi of Kanji after discussion on the initial consonant, the historical evolution and the dialects. It is believed that the work will lead to an easy way for learners.
