Corresponding Relationship Between Chinese Pinyin And Voiced-Voiceless Sound Of Japanese Kanji Ondoku

This paper inspects the "the list of Chinese characters in common use"(1945characters) published by the Japanese goverment in1981in order of Chinese consonants list (b、p、m、 f/d、t、n、l/g、k、h/j、q、x/z、c、s/zh、ch、sh、r/a、o、e, y、w). From the perspectives of comparative linguistics and statistics, this thesis analysed the following problems:1) Why Japanese learners confuse a voiceless sound with a voiced sound? The first part compared the Japanese consonant system with that of Chinese on the basis of native language transfer theory:The phonetic features of the Japanese, one is that voiced sound and voiceless sound and dull sound exist side by side.Second is that the number of voiced sounds close to that of voiceless sounds.Third is that voiced sound and voiceless sound are the character recognition of meaning. Chinese consonants also has three characteristics: Firstly,aspirated sound and unaspirated sound exist.Secondly, the overwhelming majority of Chinese consonants are voiceless sounds.In Chinese consonants,any one is voiceless sound except m[m]、n[n]、l[l]、r[z].Finally, aspirated sound and unaspirated sound are the character recognition of meaning Therefore,we know that the differences of this two languages’phonological systems and character recognition of meaning is the main reason why Japanese learners confuse a voiceless sound with a voiced sound.2)Make an explanation of the voiced-voiceless corresponding relation between Japanese Kanji Ondoku and Chinese pinyin in view of historical origins.Although Japanese Kanji Ondoku are multifarious,we know that Japanese Kanji and pronunciation were brought to Japan from China during the period of mid-ancient Chinese,many pronunciation laws of mid-ancient Chinese can be found in Japanese Kanji Ondoku.Through the analysis of the historical origins of this two languages.we can draw a conclusion that Goon has a strict voiced-voiceless corresponding relation with medieval Chinese and initial devoicing was fully reflected in Kanon.3)In modern standard Chinese pronunciation,there are four tones.rising tone.level tone.falling-rising tone and falling tone.which have evolved from the tone of medieval Chinese based on voiced-voiceless sound.The ninth chapter of this paper discussed the corresponding relation between the tone of Chinese characters and the voiced-voiceless sound of Japanese Kanji Ondoku. Through the evolution of the tone of medieval Chinese characters we can conclude the rule to know Japanese Ondoku’voiced-voiceless sound.A lot of scholars have studied the corresponding relation between the Japanese Kanji Ondoku and the Chinese character pronunciation,and discussed the retain of mid-ancient Chinese in Japanese Kanji Ondoku from the perspectives of phonology, but the study about the historical origins of voiced-voiceless corresponding relation and the corresponding relation between the tone of Chinese characters and the voiced-voiceless sound of Japanese Kanji Ondoku are unprecedented.Perhaps it will be a significant new topic to the users or learners of this two languages.
