The quality of teachers, just like education, is an ancient topic, often arousing people's rethinking about it. And English is a fundamental course in a university. With the rapid development of science and technology, and emergence of advanced teaching theory and teaching practice in the Internet era, it is inevitable to study the quality of English teachers in the contemporary higher education field. The quality of English teachers not only directly influences the efficiency and effectiveness of English teaching in the Internet era, but also directly restricts the cultivation of students' English language abilities. Furthermore, the quality of English teachers plays an important role in the constraints to the quality of English education as well.Based on related research at home and abroad, we have made an investigation and research on the quality of English teachers in a certain university in Hunan Province. With the analysis of the questionnaire, results as follows: In the Internet era , college English teachers in China's are short of professional ethics, spirits of innovation, knowledge structure, educational concept, quality of scientific research , information literacy and teaching methods. Following it is an analysis of the subjective and objective causes of the situation with new requirements of college English teachers' quality in the Internet era adopted.Referring to the new requirements for the quality of college English teachers, the last chapter lays its emphasis on the corresponding strategies and countermeasures to develop their comprehensive quality.
