In the implementation of the reform and open-up policy for 30 years, our country has carried on a series of fruitful reform on college English's educational model. This paper aims at earnestly reviewing to the reform course of our teaching mode towards college English teaching since the reform and open-up policy was promulgated, summarizing the results obtained from reforming as well as analyzing the key point of acquiring these achievements in order to assimilate the deficiencies existing in the way of reforming and draw lessons from defeat. Through systematically research on the reform of the teaching mode of college English teaching after the promulgation of our country's reform and open-up policy, we can see that our country mainly experienced three patterns of reform, namely the traditionally and purely educational model of taking the teacher as the primary part in teaching, this pattern is largely used since reform and opening-up of our country to 2000 year. The history of this pattern is very long, but as a language subject, this pattern has many shortages, such as too old of teaching conception, too boring of teaching methods, which are not helpful to grasp language rules. Secondly the cooperatively teaching mode of taking the interaction between teacher and students and the point of teaching benefits teachers as well as students as the key point in teaching. This mode is used from 2001 to 2003. It provides more chance to communicate, which can promote the ability of learning by themselves. And the third one, the multimedia-assistant teaching mode of taking the teacher as the leading role while the students are the main part in teaching. This mode is used from 2004 till now,which has its modernizational educational technology to motivate the initiative of the teacher and the students. Those reforms are based on the currently international and domestic new requests to the foreign language teaching which in order to adapt the demand of our country's college English teaching. To create much more proper teaching modes to learn foreign language, many universities opened public English as main teaching method. However, the English teaching is a developmental process that the present English teaching mode of taking the multimedia as the leading part in teaching still has its insufficiencies. Therefore, our point is how to provide us the possible theory basis of our country's future developing way of college English teaching through analyzing and summarizing the reforms of the teaching mode of our country's college English teaching since the reform and open-up policy is promulgated.
