Work engagement is a multidimensional construct defined as a positive,fulfilling, work-related state of mind that is characterized by vigor,dedication and absorption. Enterprise employees to maintain a high level of work can bring higher profits and make the good organizational climate for enterprises.Many variables affecting work engagement,and personality is one of the most important variables.The employees of CNOOC as subjects of this research are measured for exploring the relationship between work and self-esteem.There are two clues in this research paper,the one is measuring the explicit esteem and work engagement,and then verifying the relationship between work engagement and explicit esteem.Another one is measuring implicit esteem by implicit association test(IAT),and then detecting the relationship between work engagement and implicit esteem.At last,we can draw a comprehensive conclusion on this experiment:1.Experiment is to testify the existence of different levels of work engagement,and it was verified.And there is significant difference between different Working ages.Work engagement has dual characteristics and stability.2.The subjects have similar implicit esteem no matter what levels of work engagement.3.The result showed that explicit esteem and implicit esteem have no significant correlation.4.There are no significant correlation between work engagement and esteem.
