This study extracted a variable from organization dimension,a variable from family dimension,and a variable from society dimension,to investigate the influence on employee's stress.The objective of this study was to see the conditions of employee's stress,the leadership style of his/her direct leader,family cohesion and adaptability,and social support,to explore the relationship between the latter three factors and employee's stress,to find the relationship of leadership style,family cohesion and adaptability with social support,and to provide some corresponding measures to alleviate employee's stress after the in-depth understanding of the factors that influence employee's stress.The study used Chinese Perceived Stress Scale(CPSS),Leadership Style Questionnaire (LSQ),Family Adaptability and Cohesion Scale(FACESâ…¡-CV) and Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS) to investigate 470 employees in a number of enterprises,used SPSS11.5 for data analvsiso The conclusions are as follows:1.The employees presently endure moderate stress.There is no significant difference on gender,marital status,age,education level or job position,there are significant differences on the nature of an enterprise,industry,nature of work and working years.2.In the state-owned enterprises,directive leadership and task-oriented leadership are the dominant leadership style;in the private enterprises and overseas-invested enterprises,directive leadership and relation-oriented leadership are the dominant leadership style.Every factor of leadership style has significantly correlation with employee's stress,employees feel different leadership style feel significantly different stress.Participating and relation-orienting have significant influence on employee's stress.3.Neither family cohesion nor adaptability has significant difference on gender,marital status or age,both family cohesion and adaptability have significant difference on education level.Family cohesion and adaptability have significantly negative correlation with employee's stress,employees from different family types feel significantly different stress.Family adaptability has significant influence on employee's stress.4.There is no significant gender,industry,or position difference in social support.Married and unmarried employees are significantly different in objective support;social support and its objective support,subjective support factors are significantly different on age,education level, nature of enterprise and nature of work;degree of utilization of support is only significantly different on nature of work.Social support and its factor:subjective support and degree of utilization of support have significantly negative correlation with stress,objective support is not significantly correlated with stress.Subjective support is a predictor for employee's stress.5.In decision-making participation dimension,employees feel different leadership style have significant differences in objective support;in incentive mechanism dimension,employees feel different leadership style have significant differences in social support and its factor:degree of utilization of support.Both family cohesion and adaptability have significantly positive correlation with social support and its factor:subjective support and support utilization,there is no significant correlation with objective support.6.Subjective support has mediating effect between the relation-orienting factor of leadership style and employee's stress.
