Research On The Situation Of Alienation And The Relationship Among Alienation, Family Cohesion, Family Adaptability And Interpersonal Trust For College Students

College students are in the second period of the awakening of self-consciousness, with thinking of existential problem, establishing of value view and philosophy,exploration of life meaning and life direction, which always result in the emergence of alienation and posing negative effect on mental health of college students. The purpose of the paper is to examine to the relation among alienation, family cohesion and family adaptability and interpersonal trust in the sample of college students.The paper,fall into three parts:firstly,We expatiate on and integrate concepts and theories of alienation from domestic and oversea. Secondly,a self-measure of alienation,the College Students Alienation Scale was developed with regard to chinese college students. Thirdly,Data on College Students Alienation Scale, FACESâ…¡-CVand Interpersonal Trust Scale were collected and analyzed on a sample of 856 college students of grade 1-4 and the relation among alienation, family cohesion and family adaptability and interpersonal trust was examined and discussed.Results indicate that:(1)the College Students Alienation Scale has good consistency reliability and a factor structure consistent with the theory.(2)The alienation isn't prevalent among the Chinese college students.(3)There is significant difference among sex in the alienation and its four dimensions. That is, the male has the higher level of environmental alienation than the female.(4) Family cohesion, family cohesion are negatively related to all the dimension of alienation.(5)Interpersonal trust is negatively related to all the dimension of alienation.(6) Family cohesion is expected to predict the level of alienation directly.(7)Family adaptability is also expected to predict alienation by way of interpersonal trust.
