Research On The Relationship Among Future Time Perspective, Motivation Achievement And Psychological Well-being In College Students

This paper makes a survery on the future time perspective,achievement motivation and psychological well-being of college students,and discusses the relationships between them.The main purpose is to provide more information for the research of future time perspectvie,achievement motivation and psychological well-being,and provide theoretical and data supports for psychological worker's in colleges.950 college students were chosen from Hebei Normal University,Hebei University of Economics and Bussiness,Hebei University of science and technology,Hebei jiaotong Vocational and Technical College,Hebei College of Industry and Technology,Shijiazhuang Post and Telecommunications Technical College.Three scales which included Future time perspective Questionaire,Achievement Motivation Scale,and Psychological well-being Scale were used.The results are:1.Overall,the level of the future time perspective,achievement motivation and psychological well-being of college students were higher than the middle on the whole.2.The analysis of variance showed that the main effect on future time perspective were different significantly in school style,major and gender.the Junior college students got higher score than the university students,the males got higher score than the females,the science students get higher score than the arts students;the main effect on achievement motivation were different significantly in major and gender,the science students got higher score than the arts students,the males got higher score than the females;the main effect on psychological well-being were different significantly in school style,the Junior college students got higher score than the university students.3.Significantly positive correlation was found between future time perspective, achievement motivation and psychological well-being.4.Future time perspective had an directly impact on psychological well-being, meanwhile the influence of future time perspective on psychological well-being were partly mediated by achievement motivation. We can concluded from the results that the level of college students'future time perspective were higher than the middle on the whole,significantly positive correlation was found between future time perspective,achievement motivation and psychological well-being; achievement motivation was an important mediator between future time perspective and psychological well-being.
