The Relationship Between Growth Mindset And Grit:Multiple Mediation Effects Of The Future Time Perspective And Achievement Motivation

Grit is a quality that persists in the pursuit of long-term goals with passion,even through failure.As one of the most modern educational idea,grit has swept across the entire American education academic circle in recent years.The psychology of a large number of empirical studies show that grit quality in predicting the academic performance of students,adult work achievement is of great importance.And people are doing a lot of good exploration in terms of the impact factors.In the 2013 TED speech,professor Duckworth mentioned that the most effective way to cultivate fortitude is growth thinking.Existing research has found that the future time perspective affects the level of the grit,and the achievement motivation has a certain effect on grit.There are few studies on the systematic influence of growth mindset as well as the future time perspective,achievement motivation on grit level,so this research has certain theoretical and practical value.This research will be studied from the point of future time perspective and achievement motivation as intermediary variable,exploring the impact of the growth mindset on grit.The research with the growth mindset scale,the future time perspective questionnaire,achievement motivation scale,grit scale,use the method of questionnaire,conducted among more than 500 students in two universities in the Shandong province.The results are as follows:1.The growth mindset,future time perspective,achievement motivation and grit of college students are generally at a moderate level.2.Growth mindset,future time perspective and grit are significantly positively correlated.3.Growth mindset,achievement motivation,and grit have two significant positive correlation.Motivation to pursue success,growth of mindset,and grit show a significant positive correlation.Motivation to avoid failure,growth mindset,and grit present a significant negative correlation.4.There is a significant positive correlation between future time perception and achievement motivation.5.Achievement motivation and future time perspective have some mediating effect between growth mindset and grit respectively.6.Future time perspective and achievement motivation have multiple mediating effect between growth mindset and grit.
