The flexible in structure and variability in meaning of Chinese idiomatic phraseare also the emphases and difficulty in teaching chinese as a foreign language.Based on the re-cognition of the structure and function of Chinese idiomatic phrase, this thesis analyses the seemingly different changed structure in use , poinst out it's actually obey the rule of meaning,a kind of "structure-meaning corresponding", which is the principle of cognitive linguistics. And this thesis classifies the Chinese idiomatic phrase into three categories, in consideration of the effect of the componential meaning play on the Chinese idiomatic phrase, and the mechanism of the Chinese idiomatic phrase.It also points out the stable elements in varietal meaning. Then this thesis proposes the corresponding teaching strategies and methods.
