The structure of “Chi X Fan” is a well-known language structure and widely usedin the process of verbal communication. This thesis describes and explains the idiomaticphrase “Chi X Fan” structure by applying context theory and relevance theory, etc.Firstly, the definition of “Chi X Fan” structure, excluding the object with themeaning of the idiom, said “Chi X Fan” structure as the object of study.Secondly, taking the aspect of synchronic as the standard, this thesis describes andexplains idiomatic phrase idiomatic phrase “Chi X Fan”from three aspect s of syntax,semantic meaning and pragmatics. This thesis emphasizes idiomatic phrase “Chi XFan” features when it is applied.Thirdly, this thesis also investigates the production reason and the developinghistory of idiomatic phrase “Chi X Fan” from the aspect of diachronic.The effectivecombination of synchronic and diachronic presents syntactic and pragmaticscharacteristic of idiomatic phrase “Chi X Fan”.The combination of synchronic anddiachronic research hopes to exactly describe idiomatic phrase “Chi X Fan”structurefeatures which are presented during the constant development and improvement. So itcan uncover the reason why the same structure has different semantics feature in acertain period.
