| The excavation of Mawangdui Tomb of Changsha is one of the most significant events of the 20th Century in both archeology and culture world.As an encyclopedia of Tombs to know about the society of Xihan dynasty which is 2100 years ago,Mawangdui brings us various priceless artwork,including more than 3000 intact precious cultural relics,Xihan silk books with about 120 thousands of characters,mummified body which is the most marvelous mummification work of the world,A great deal of daily utensils,silk books,silk paintings,and wonderful decoration art which is presented on the surface of coffin which is used to preserve the mummified body are also discovered by researchers.With its unique style of art,Mawangdui's decoration art represents to the art world the mysterious ChuWu culture,the romantic Dao culture and the poetry-like Qinhan art which in all represents the great esthetics and spirit of the Xihan dynasty.All these are the important materials for the researchers to evaluates the artwork and designation art of Mawangdui.This thesis which starts with the formation of traditional chinese decoration art,epitomizes the feature and transformation of traditional chinese decoration art from prehistory to Sandal dynasty,then it analyses how the ideology such as proto-Daoism of the early Han dynasty and god belief impacted the development trend of Mawangdui art.Then the thesis steps into the discussion of the source of Mawangdui art based on the source of art topic,principle of formation,language of color,method of representation.Finally it goes into the rethinking of Mawangdui decoration art based on the unification of Qin-Han's aesthetics and the significant point which Mawangdui art has stood on the history of both art and designation.Based on all these the thesis also starts its discovery of the original formation and primitive status of the various artwork of Mawangdui,and how Mawangdui art establishes its irreplaceable standing in the history of both art and designation.
