This article is concerned about inner regulation and inspirations of the rubbed stone inscription of the Qing Dynasty. And this topic is based on comprehensive study of calligraphic works in the Qing Dynasty. The author focus on the calligraphic system which originates from rubbed stone inscription, putting it as a framework and clarifying the thread of thoughts. The author has paid attention to the historical factors of the rubbed stone inscription, including both internal factors and external factors, which succeeds and develops the romantic feature which is dated back from late Ming Dynasty on one hand; on the other hand, influenced by academic movement in the Qing Dynasty, between which and the development of the rubbed stone inscription there is "resonance". Changes of its style show out evolutional rules in calligraphic history. Meanwhile rubbed stone inscription has been developing according to rule of "succeeding and rebelling", and however, the style produced by temporal environmental impacts, so that we can see the essence of rubbed stone inscription in the Qing Dynasty more clearly and comprehensively. The article has no intention to list famous authors'works in the Qing Dynasty, while the question is how to follow the inherent rules to make a brief analysis of the representative figures in rubbed stone inscription, such as Zheng Fu,Jin Dongxin, Zheng Banqiao, Deng Shiru.The concept of calligraphy has been a major impact on contemporary calligraphy since the Qing Dynasty. We have analyzed of the historical causes of rubbed stone inscription in the Qing Dynasty and its rules. And the author tries to illustrate those relevant questions, which is playing a positive and significant role in study contemporary calligraphy. Now the author decides to divide "calligraphy" into three phases based on re-considering: practical phase; lyrical and conscious phase; aesthetic phase. In this way we can understand the problem of expansion on learning in rubbed stone inscription more objectively. Furthermore the author has affirmed the role of inherent rule about "succeeding and rebelling" in Chinese traditional calligraphy, while he has denied the standpoint which just as the others pointed out that the expansion of template in rubbed stone inscription leads to expansion of classical calligraphic system based on his rethinking and research. In addition, the author admits the importance of rule about "succeeding and rebelling", which is consistent with aesthetic demands. And at the same time, it is also necessary to carefully analyze of what should be appreciated or what should be denied according to above-mentioned rule for the sake of making due contributions .In this condition, it will certainly make sense to historical significance and objective value of rubbed stone inscription.
