This article wants to discuss The response in the turbulence—the research on the culture of Wushu during Taiping Kingdom. Though all the ages, most researchers put their points on history or action of Wushu. There are not many papers which discuss it on the background, which is the social transition period or farmer movement. As the most popular non-mainstream culture of China, Wushu's society function has not been thought highly enough. When study the Yihetuan Movement, Author realizes the affection that Wushu has in training, organizing, promoting and fighting. So to study the Wushu during the Taiping Kingdom came into mind. And at the same time, Author wants to discuss how Wushu can fit for times by adjust and change itself during the social transition period.This article has three parts--introduction, main body and the rest.The first part is introduction. It is about the reason of choose this theme, the range and sense of it, the present situation of the research, and the way to study it. In the present situation of the research, Author agrees with the achievements that already have. And then makes the limitation clear, so that the article can show its unique research angle of view. Author also brief the creation of the own way of study.The second part includes the second chapter to the eighth. The second is to introduce and analyze the background of this article. The third to the fifth chapters introduce Wushu in Taiping Kingdom according to time sequence. The sixth chapter analyses Wushu in different areas which Taiping Kingdom had its Military action. The seventh chapter discusses the characteristic of Wushu in period of Taiping Kingdom time. The eighth chapter discusses the affection that Taiping Kingdom had on Wushu's growing and spreading.The third part is the rest of this article. It has two small parts. One emphasizes that the substance and affection of Wushu were not changed by Taiping Kingdom. The other, on the angle of cultural science, makes it clear that Wushu is adjusted by spreading in the social transition period.There are three innovation spots in this article. First is the research angle. When analyses Taiping Kingdom movement, author starts from the Wushu cultural, and puts it into the background which is Taiping Kingdom, and works hard on combining the culture and the very circumstances, so that the study can be unify. Second the author insists Wushu did not loose its effect in Military in Taiping Kingdom, it was changed in the effect of way and range because of the culture. In the firearm culture time, cold weapons had its independent existence significance in modern times by Wushu. And it can make Wushu be inherited and developed in the impact of external culture. Third is the research result. This article researches Wushu in the history background. Discusses non-mainstream culture should be promoted in the specific environment. And discusses the resistance and fusion between the non-mainstream culture and mainstream culture.
