Chinese Wushu is extensive and profound and has a long history. It not only has a rigorous philosophy, systematic combat theory and completes system of exercise but also has a series of functions: keeping fit, fighting illness,self-defending and cultivating people's mind and so on.Relying on politic, economy, military, religion, education, health care, art, play and other activities,Wushu showed cultural spirit, philosophical wisdom, social psychology, customs, aesthetic as well as artistic taste.Chinese Wushu contains strong cultural characteristics and has become the carrier of Chinese culture. With the advent of economic globalization, cultural globalization has gradually become a trend with rich content. And in the process of globalization, western sports became popular while Chinese Wushu is less popular. So,we should inherit our Chinese culture and transmit it to the world. The thesis is based on Hermenutics, which is a theory about meaning and interpretation which is one of the most vitality in the contemporary and has a close relationship with translation. The famous translation theorist George Steiner proposed it in After Babel: Aspects of Language and Translation. And he put forward the four steps of translation: trust, aggression, incorporation and compensation. In every step,it embodies translator's subjectivity.Basing on the materials---Chinese Wushu History, the thesis analyzed the translation which the author translated and tried to find the method of Wushu translation. The author has carefully read Chinese Wushu History and looked into many materials about Wushu and selected materials to translate,so as to give a full play to the subjectivity of translators.Due to the difference of cultural customs, traditions, history and ways of thinking of China and western countries, the original text has to be invaded when translated. The author should break through the limitation of language form and get the essence of the original text.In order to successfully carry out the translation work, the author should absorb the content of the original text on the basis of understanding and choose the appropriate expression to translate. Finally, cultural compensation should be carried out to make up some information loss.Theauthor mainly uses foreignization and tries to keep the Chinese cultural characteristics of the original text throughout the translation process. In the whole process of translation,it follows the four principles of interpretation: trust, invasion, absorption and compensation.
