Qian Zhongshu's Renaissance Complex

This article takes the 20th century Chinese scholars's dream of "modernization" and its various related thoughts as the writing background,and the European 14-16 century Renaissance history as a reference,and bases on the clear disdinction between the Chinese and European,the connotation and denotation Renaissance concept and takes it as theoretical premise.Within the specific theory frame, through some text based on empirical research,we carry on the elaboration analysis of Qian Zhongshu's(who is a intellectual scholar and deliberately to pull away from the era vortexes and to be a"bystander") Renaissance Complex,then we analyze Qian's understanding of Renaissance spirit: tongrentongshi(通人通识). This thesis launches the analysis elaboration in four aspects:The first part is introduction and literature summary.The theory ignificance of this topic and reason of choosing is addressed,including the Starting point and the research status.We find that renaissance and elightmengt are the mainstream words in China in the 20th century.And Qian Zhongshu played an unique role——a bystander in the siege. Then the writing attention of this article is put forward based on the above analysis.In the next part,we discuss Qian Zhongshu'sense of crisis and his dream of"Chinese Renaissance".The third part we analyze Qian Zhongshu's Chinese Renaissance complex.The final part we analyze the spirit of Qian's understanding of Renaissance——tongrentongshi and cast back its origin.
