After the Second World War, US-Soviet breakout the Cold War, The Middle East becomes the focal point between US and Soviet Union because of its important strategic location and oil resources. Egypt plays an important role in the Middle East. Therefore, the policies of the US to Egypt are core component of American policies during the cold war. This article takes historical materialism viewpoint as the guiding principle, taking US government's diplomatic declassified document(FOREIGN RELATIONS OF THE UNITED STATES) as the foundation, attempts to analyze the policies of Johnson Administration to Egypt and constraints between the United States and Egypt, as well as the influence which the policies of Johnson Administration to the Egyptian policy.This thesis is composed of four parts:The part of introduction mainly aims to present the foundation, present domestic and foreign research of the selected topic, as well as to illuminate the original declassified documents of the United States.Part one mainly elaborates the background of policies of Johnson Administration to the Egypt, namely the policies of Truman, Eisenhower and Kennedy administration to Middle East and Egypt. Generally speaking, these three presidents take a "balanced" policy to the Middle East and take a "carrot and stick" policy to Egypt.Part two is the body part of this thesis, based on FRUS primitive declassified document, attempted to analyzed the cause and effect of policies of Johnson Administration to the Egypt through the outbreak war of 1967 Six Days. Johnson always carries out the"tough"policy to Egypt from beginning to end.Part three mainly introduces the constraints and impact of policies of Johnson Administration to the Egyptian policy.This thesis concludes that the policies of Johnson Administration to Egypt have played an important role on the entire post-war history of the Middle East. The Johnson Administration, because at that time the domestic and foreign various factors, eventually abandon the previous Government "friendly" policies to Egypt and instead adopt a " strongly " policies, even though the US and Egypt broke off diplomatic relation, causing the Nixon must adjust the policies to Middle East and improve the relationship between America and Egypt when he came into power.
