The Fusion Of Music And Local Culture

The Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra is a professional orchestra,the only non-state-run and self-financed philharmonic orchestra in China currently.Its great efforts contributed a special part to the development of Xiamen urban culture for ten years since it was founded.This thesis applies Timothy Rice's theory model of history construction-social maintenance-individual adaptation and experience to research the interaction between XPO and local culture.Through the Introduction of XPO,the statistics and analysis of a variety of symphony concerts,this Thesis discusses the close relationship between XPO and Chinese symphony history,the interactional relationship between XPO and local politics,economy,culture development of Xiamen.Furthermore,this thesis points out the XPO is a fusion of Chinese symphony history and Xiamen urban culture development,and a musical group with significant local cultural characteristics.
