Who We Really Are?

Pamuk is one of the world-renowned Great Writer of contemporary literature,contributing a lot of outstanding works.But because his books has just been introduced to China, the research of his works is currently still at a preliminary stage.In this paper,we discuss about identity problems which pamuk concern most,focusing on text analysis of four of his works:"My Name Is Red","Snow," "Black Book","Istanbul", to discuss how he Describe anxiety of Turks in books,as well as the question of how to choose identity."My name is Red" reveal the encounter of civilizations caused by concussion, the 16th century reproduction of Art history;"black book" with a roaming kalip for clues in Istanbul described the chaotic state values;"Snow," a biography of the poet-style outline cards for our Kafka-style show of contemporary political Absurd Drama.And "Istanbul" on the authors own process of growth and urban change Review of affection,has provided us with another interpretation of the Istanbul key.Pamuk's works are all in Istanbul against the backdrop of the city,which across the Eurasian continental city,and it provides a natural convenience to cross-cultural thinking for Pamuk,meanwhile their identity has brought embarrassment. They want to join the European Union,while want to maintain an independent culture.So they stand the horns of a dilemma, domestic religious and secular contest has been ongoing.Pamuk is a public intellectual conscience,liking thinking positive social problems.He dare say the truth,so he resent by some people,once threatening the life.And Pamuk is a scholarly writer,learned,hard-working and productive,writing 10 hours a day.His continuing concern and thinking about the identity has become valuable assets of contemporary literature,worthy of our further exploration. And because Pamuk is in the creation of a strong period,it was too early to give a final judgment for him.
