Study On The Affixes Of Yongxiu Dialect In Jiangxi Province

Yongxiu county lies in the North of Jiangxi Province. Yongxiu dialect, belonging to the Nanchang-Jing'an group in Gan dialect, shows many differences from the Standard Chinese in Phonetic, lexical and grammatical features.The present dissertation mainly adopts the methods of the Descriptive Linguistics, attempting to make a systematic study on the affixes of Yongxiu dialect based on abundant language facts. It firstly defines the affixes in Chapter 1 and then gives an overall and concrete description of the different prefixes, mid-affixes and suffixes in Yongxiu dialect from the aspects of pronunciation, word-formation characters, Semantic and grammatical features in the following two chapters. On the base of the descriptions and comparison with the Standard Chinese, the dissertation concludes the categories and features of affixes of Yongxiu dialects in Chapter 4.Through the concrete analysis and study, we can have a clear and complete understanding of the affixes system of Yongxiu dialect. We can find certain distinctive features of the affixes in pronunciation, usage and function. They reflect some systematic and regular features in word-formation and the abundant compound words embody the specificity, diversity and activity of affixes in Yongxiu dialects.
