As a sub-category of Shandong dialects, the vocabularies of Tengzhou Dialect, affixes inparticular are typical. Monemes of affixes are in abundance and frequently used, which is ofsignificant characterization. Affixes of mandarin are divided into typical as well as quasi-ones,depending on the degree of semantic grammaticalization, conditions of its position as well asthat of prolificacy. Tengzhou Dialect can be measured hereto. The quintessential affixes ofTengzhou Dialect are “Lao”,“Tou” and “Zi” and they are normative symbols on thegrammatical basis. Among them,“Zi” is the most striking noun affix in Tengzhou Dialect,which is characterized by wide coverage, strong attachment as well as the highest prolificacy.In Tengzhou Dialect,“Lao”,“Tou” and “Zi” comparatively inherit the usage of modernChinese language and derive into some other special usages. There are also “Yang”,“Ge”,“Lai”,“Zhong”,“Xiong”,“Huo”,“La”,“Ba” and “Hu” in quasi-affixes of Tengzhou Dialect,among which “Zhong”,“Xiong”,“Huo” are the three special swear words. According to theirfunctions, affixes of Tengzhou Dialect have the generative, semantic and grammatical aspects.
