Research On Thoughts About Buddhism Of Xie Lingyun

Xie Lingyun(385-433AD) is a renowned poet who is famous for literature and poem in Jin and Song dynasties,which have an extensive and far-reaching impact on later generation. Meanwhile,Xie Lingyun is also an important Buddhist who has deep knowledge on Buddhism.Making a comprehensive survey on research about Xie Lingyun,we found it a fact that is more researching results on literature and poem,but less on thoughts of Buddhism.In view of this,the author of this thesis tries to study the poet Xie Lingyun systematically in Buddhism part,analyze achievements of Xie Lingyun in Buddhism.The thesis is divided in to four sections.The first section,the author introduces all Xie Lingyun's life and times of background. The author introduces living era and growing environment of Xie Lingyun briefly,and developing conditions of Buddhism in background of the ear,which combines with historical records and masterpieces of Xie Lingyun;thus,we find the main driving forces of Xie Lingyun enthusiasm on Buddhism.The second section,the author studies of principal and subsidiary causes of Xie Lingyun and Buddhism.The author researches on making friends among Xie Lingyum and eminent monks,including Hui Yuan,Tan Long,Hui Guan,Hui Yan,Hui Ling etc.,according to masterpiece poem and literature of Xie Lingyun.The third section,the author researches on Buddhism thoughts of Xie Lingyun.To analyze Buddhism connotations in thoughts of Xie Lingyun,the author discovers implications of Buddhism in the poem of Xie Lingyun,generalizes Buddhism thoughts of saton,pure land and prajna in works of Xie Lingyun,which is focus on famous compositions that is Bianzonglun,Jingtuyong and Weimojieshipiyuzan with the development of Buddhism thoughts as chief clues.The fourth section,the author researches on influences of Buddhism thoughts of Xie Lingyun.The period of the first climax of Buddhism development in China is Wei Jin South North dynasties.As a coming religious culture,it surely had impact on Chinese aboriginal culture.Buddhism activity of Xie Lingyun had important impact on poem creation of himself, reflecting impact on literature of Buddhism in Jin and Song dynasties;on the other hand,as a lay Buddhist he had an important influential on scholars of literature in later generations. Thus,the author makes comments on these.
