Psychological Pressure. Chengdu College Students Cope With Depression Relationship

To analyze the peculiarity and relationships among stress, coping style and depression, 500 undergraduates coming from 3 univecities in Chengdu were asked to complete the Psychological Stress Questionnaire of undergraduates, Coping Style Questionnaire and Beck Depression Invension, and recycled 467 effective questionnaires, then used SPSS 17.0 to analyze data and used thorough interview to discuss the remarkable differences and reasons. This research did not consider that individuals who maybe diagnose to be depression on the related analysis and processing, namely in this research,despondent is refers to an unusual mood that individuals may carry on the self-adjustment by psychological unblocking and intervention.Findings demonstrated that:(1) The undergraduates'stress, coping style and depression have remarkable colony diversity.(2) Between the despondent degree and various pressure dimensions exists obviously relation. As for the whole, the one picking out no despondent or mild despondent is lower than the one picking out moderate despondent and serious despondent in the score of various pressure dimensions.(3) Positive coping style, for example,"solving problem","seeking halpness", has the remarkable negative correlation with the despondent degree; negive coping style, for example,"avoidance"and"rebuke oneself", has the remarkable positive correlation with the despondent degree. That is to say, when face the stress, negative coping style may place a premium on the despondent easily; positive coping style may be one of the protective factors to prevent despondent.(4) The pressure source, for example, the setback pressure, the love pressure, the interpersonal pressure, the academic pressure, the mood pressure, the employment pressure and so on, and the coping style, for example, solving problem, seeking haleness, rebuke oneself and so on, have significant predictor of despondent degree.(5) It can be seen from the path diagram that there are 4 remakable pathes in the path diagram.Pearsonal oneself pressure,social pressure have direct influence to depressre, producing direct effect;passive copping style has direct influence to depressre, producing direct effect; pearsonal oneself pressure,social pressure have indirect influence to depressre, producing indirect effect by taking positive copping style as intervening variable, pearsonal oneself pressure,social pressure have remarkable indirect influence to depressre by taking passive copping style as intervening variable.
