The developing and thriving of China's tourism can not be separated from high-quality talented persons with both tourism and English knowledge which is called inter-disciplinary talents. And the training of the talents can not be separated from education. Therefore, with the growing up of tourism, more and more universities have set up the tourism management, and some have even set up the tourism college. The tourism English course has been set up simultaneously, too. Among the courses, the tourism English has attracted the most attention. As there are no newborn things of absolute perfection at the beginning, in contrast to the traditional subjects like Chinese and mathematics, tourism English as a new inter-discipline, has remained some undetermined questions on course arrangements, teaching material constructions as well as teaching methods at present. The latest teaching theory of western educational psychology—the constructivism, with many unique opinions both in teaching and learning, has posed a challenge to the traditional teaching theory. Therefore, this paper will combine the constructivism with the teaching of English course of tourism management of higher learning. And its aim is to study and reflect on the teaching of English course of tourism management of higher learning from the perspective of constructivism, to change its current situation, and to perfect it gradually.This paper is divided into five chapters: chapter I is the introduction, which describes the basis on which the author studied, the summary, the significance worth studying, the research methods, as well as the characteristics and innovations; chapter II introduces the basis of the theory—constructivism, including its coming into being, development, its learning theory, its teaching modes and teaching methods; chapter III mainly elaborates the current teaching situation of English course of tourism management of higher learning. In order to get the access to the first-hand information, the author has conducted a questionnaire survey and an interview. According to the results of the survey and the research results of the relevant existing literature, the author has analyzed the existing problems in both teaching and learning as well as its cause of the English course of tourism management of higher learning; in the fourth chapter, firstly, the author has compared the difference between constructivist teaching theory and traditional teaching theory, continuously combined the results of the survey in the above and further analyzed and summarized the measure for reformation of current situation of English course of tourism management of higher learning from the perspective of constructivism; the fifth chapter is the summary of the whole paper.
