The Preliminary Study Of The Prominent Families Of Shandong Province In The Ming And Qing Dynasties

As one of the most important administrative divisions in the Ming and Qing dynasties, Shandong was not only a developed area with flourishing culture, but also an area with lots of prominent families. These prominent families had important effect on the local affairs,economic development and the etiquette and custom of Shandong Province. Moreover, on the effect of the distinctive local culture of Shandong Province,the gentry of the Shandong Prominent Families formed distinct local mentality, and the shandong prominent families formed distinct genealogical culture and life style,which were conspicuous different from the prominent families in the south.The thesis is on the basis of collecting the materials extensively, inherit forefathers'research results, use the research method of combining family history research with local history research, make a comprehensive survey of prominent family and gentry in prominent family of Shandong province.According to the study,I want to tell the clue of the Shandong area social development in the latet period in Feudalist society ,disclosure the distinguished character of Shandong people and the Distinctive culture of Shandong province.The thesis includes five parts:Part one: Summarize the general character of the Shandong prominent families in the Ming and Qing dynasties,and the diffrence between different districts in Shandong province.According to the principal character of familial culture, the shandong prominent families can be divided into three species:official families, literatural families and the military families.Since the diffrence in economic growth and imperial examination level between diffrent districts,the shandong prominent families have different behavior in scale, quantity,the period of flourish and so on.Part two:This part discussed the political activities of the Shandong prominent families in the Ming and Qing dynasties. Large amount of gentry took eminent official positions,played an important sole in the feudalism court.The thesis makes some study on the activities of Shandong prominent families'gentry in conflict between political parties in the later period of the Ming dynasty and the cross period between Ming and Qing dynasty,shows the various diversity of the activities of the Shandong prominent families'gentry.Part three:Tell the economical characteristic of the Shandong prominent families in the Ming and Qing dynasties. The Shandong prominent families took official emoluments and land rent as the main income,which economic strength is tremendous.Part four:This part mainly discussed the moral outlook and the local functionof the Shandong prominent families.The prominent families adibe by thethe konfuzianisch moral outlook, was the morality model and leader in the local area,by marriage relation of equal status, strengthening kindred notion and the konfuzianisch moral outlook.As the meanwhile, the Shandong prominent families leaded the local affairs actively,was the intermediate forces between the Feudalism country and the grass-roots unit of society.Part five:Having probed into the comparison between the Shandong prominent families and the prominent families in the south,the thesis try to tell the common character of the Shandong and the south prominent families and the feature of the Shandong prominent families. With the influence of the economy and the culture,The Shandong prominent families was smaller in scale and more lavish than the prominent families in the south.
