The Study Of The Relationship Among Life Events, Coping Style And Mental Health Of Chinese Communist Party And Governmental Leading Cadres

Finding out the present situation of mental health of Chinese Communist Party and Governmental Leading Cadres, studying the relationship among life events, coping style, and mental health, and discussing the mechanism among those three factors can provide a helping work for mental health education and build a contingent of high-calibre leading cardres.The study on the field of life events, coping style, and mental health has a long history both at home and abroad. A large amount of theoretical and demonstration studies show that, there is a close relationship between life events and mental health. The more mental health level goes down, the lower quantity of life events stimulus will be. Meanwhile, the role of coping style in the relationship between life events and mental health is under dispute. Some studies show that, coping style has intermediation function between life events and mental health; other studies show that, there's no significant intermediation function of coping style between life events and mental health. The studies on life events, coping style and mental health have already been covered thoroughly pointing to various kinds of subjects, but sufficient studies pointing to Chinese Communist Party and Governmental Cadres are still needed.This study first does an exhaustive documentary summary on life events, coping style, and mental health. An analysis about the existing problems in this study was made at the same time. Based on this point, the research questions were proposed. And especially for the special group of party and government leading cadres, a present situation discussion of life events, coping style and mental health and the relationship and the interaction mechanism among these three factors are necessary. The study uses"Symptom Checklist-90"(SCL-90) to survey the present situation of Chinese Communist Party and Governmental Leading Cadres;"Life Events Scale"(LES) surveys the quantity of life events on Chinese Communist Party and Governmental Leading Cadres in a year or a half;"Coping style questionnaire"surveys coping style characteristics of Chinese Communist Party and Governmental Leading Cadres. Those three questionnaires were all filled out personally by Chinese Communist Party and Governmental Leading Cadres themselves. The main conclusions are as showed below:1 The Mental Health level of Chinese Communist Party and Governmental Leading Cadres is higher than the level of national adults'. Mental Health situation of leading cadres is good on the whole. The positive checkout ratio of paranoid ideation is the highest among the nine factors. Somatization and Anxiety have significant job position difference; there is significant interaction between educational qualifications and job position.2 There is significant gender difference on Working and Learning events of Chinese Communist Party and Governmental Leading Cadres; there is significant educational qualifications difference on Family Events; there is significant woking department and jobsite difference on Family Evens, Working and Learning events, and total quantity.3 Gender difference is signicant on Seeking Help in different copying styles, there is significant job position difference on Solving Problems, Self-Accusation, Seeking Help, and Rationalization; there is significant jobsite difference on Solving Problems, Delusion and Wince; there is very significant jobsite difference on Solving Problems.4 Life Events, Coping Style and Mental Health of Chinese Communist Party and Governmental Leading Cadres have significant correlation. Life Events have significant correlation with Coping Style, and Llife Events and Coping Style have significant correlation with Mental Health.5 Life Events and Coping Style of Chinese Communist Party and Governmental Leading Cadres have prediction function for their Mental Health level. There are four factors in Life Events and Coping Style can explain the variation of Mental Health of leading cadres jointly for 20.9%. According to the contribution from large to small, the four predictive variables are Solving Problem, Self-Accusation, Working and Learning Events, and Seeking Help.6 There is mesomeric effect of Coping Style between Life Events and Mental Health; immature Coping (Negative) Style has significant mesomeric effect statistically.
