At the second half of the 20th century,there are many similarities and disparities of ideological trend of modernism literature between Taiwan Strait,while the disparities between the cross-strait modernism novels in the basic theory,creative purport,creative achievement,artistic style as well as the different aspects they draw lessons from western modernism literature should draw more attention.The key point which gives rise to these disparities lies in the relationship between the transverse transplant and the vertical succession.Taiwan literature takes advantage of both western modernism and national literature tradition,which deserves the pioneer novelists from mainland draw some lessons.So this paper is mainly designed to discuss this issue in following aspects.In addition to reveal the development of the modernism literature between Taiwan Strait in the second half of the 20th century,the first chapter also analyzes the influence on their own theological self-consciousness and debate on creation.The ideological trend of modernism in Taiwan draws lessons from western literature self-consciously and orderly,while the rush of modernism novel tends to blind and out of order.The debate about modernism in Taiwan refers to the relationship between tradition and modern times.The literature circles in mainland always have something to do with ideology,which does harm to the sustainable development of literature.The second chapter is designed to analyze the divergence of ideological trend and achievement between the cross-strait modernism literature from the motive of epoch and the authors' psychological states as well as conception.This paper holds that we should not owe the emergence of the modernism literature in Taiwan to the simple choice caused by some negative elements,such as the social psychology of disorientation and disappoint,or to the disconnection of motherland culture.The feeling of homesickness,nostalgia,and rootless written by Taiwan writers are the right evidence to prove that the link with motherland culture could not be separated.Whereas,the devastation of the so-called "four outdated things" is,to some degree,the rupture of traditional culture.What's more the creative conception and psychological state of the authors are the inner causes of the disparities of modernism novels across the strait.The third chapter is mainly designed to discuss the cross-strait modernism literature novels' different understanding of personality and interpersonal relationship,the comparison of the surpass of narration conceptions and transplant of the narration manners.The modernism novelists in Taiwan emphasize on the exploration of the meaning of life with something beautiful and positive.However,the modernism novelists in mainland seem to be superior to those men in Taiwan.The conclusion part has a further discussion on succession and transplant's influence on literature.Meanwhile,this part also points out that it is a historical hard issue as well.
