Stories Of Wuhan

Since the literature came into being,the city is always the objects to be imagined and spoken of.Thus we can say that the writing of city is a kind of imaginational literature practice on the city.As an inland central section city,Wuhan often appears in literary works of a few writers.This paper takes the Wuhan writing in the novels of Fang Fang and Chi Li as the object of study,and tries to structure the"stories of Wuhan"from about three aspects written by the authors:common city,dream city,changeable city. Then the in-depth reason why the imaginational writing to the identical place is so .different is thoroughly analyzed."Stories of Wuhan"is a common city.The strong common breath is penetrated in the Wuhan writing of the novels of Fang Fang and Chi Li.The historical"vulgar"of urban space may plunges their marrow by character's flesh,and lets them be unable to work loose"vulgarly"shackles.The petty bourgeois crushes the intellectual and becomes the urban status spokesman.And the language also has the"vulgarly"taste,its style is sprightly,pungent,humorous and interesting."Stories of Wuhan"is a dream city.When Fang Fang and Chi Li is writing toward the different community,"stories of Wuhan"is presented to multi-dimensional and three-dimensional.It is Warm homeland,is also wilderness which has no love;It is the place which the dream starts,is also the place which the dream vanishes;It is the native place which people can settle down and get on with life,is also the foreign land which people come for the dream and disappoint until death.The homeland and wilderness,"the myth and the trap",the native place and the foreign land interweave and penetrate mutually,then they construct the dream city together."Stories of Wuhan"is a changeable city.Wuhan is not the fixed existence,it looks like a river that can flows forever and can maintains its own characteristic in the change. Since the modern started,Wuhan has experienced significant transformations,changed from agriculture patriarchal society to modern industry society,from modern industry society to initially expense society,it can realizes"the break"in the pain and moves toward the expense for"the pleasant sensation".Obviously,common Wuhan shows the vulgar,tenacious and endures of the floor of the city;dream Wuhan reveals opening,containing,seal and repel;changeable Wuhan lets us see the pain and the pleasant sensation of modernization process.Such writing are inseparable with relations of Fang Fang,Chi Li and Wuhan,Fang Fang and Chi Li are not only inventors of"stories Wuhan",and themselves are also Wuhan's creations,the dual status causes them to have the big difference to Wuhan's writing.The"outstanding person"narrative standpoint depends on the"external"status and the intellectual aristocratic family of Fang Fang.But Chi Li who considers herself to be"petty bourgeois"displays certain sympathy in Wuhan writing.
